Membership benefits for University of Leeds PGRs and Staff
The Leeds Institute for Fluid Dynamics (LIFD) is a cross-disciplinary research institute bringing together the expertise of over 200 members of staff, postdoctoral researchers and PhD students with teaching and research interests in fluid dynamics. We provide a hub to facilitate world-leading research and education in fluid dynamics and to bring interdisciplinary perspectives to complex flow challenges. LIFD offers expertise and facilities across 12 Schools in 4 Faculties, covering the breadth of Fluid Dynamics from fundamental physics to real-world applications. We have excellent High Performance Computing facilities and laboratories ranging from microfluidics to large scale medical imaging and environmental flow measurement.
There are a wide range of benefits on offer for members at the University of Leeds, including:
- association with an internationally-renowned fluid dynamics research institute
- networking and collaborating with fluids researchers from all Faculties involved in LIFD
- contributing to setting the strategic direction of LIFD for the benefit of the fluids community at Leeds, including involvement in decisions on future support infrastructure, equipment and facilities through membership update meetings, or involvement in the Management team
- invitation to relevant events, meetings, seminars, workshops and conferences
