Fluids ECR Forum

About

The Fluids Early Career Researcher (ECR) Forum promotes the flow of research ideas and expertise among Early Career Researchers (ECRs) in fluid dynamics across various schools and departments at the University of Leeds. We meet on a regular basis to discuss and develop ideas to serve the interests of PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in fluid dynamics. We are supported financially by the Leeds Institute of Fluid Dynamics.

Our mission is to establish a sense of community among early career researchers in fluid dynamics across the University. This includes, but is not limited to, gathering together for fluids social events, informal cross-disciplinary seminars and organising local networking events. We also advise our members with regards to research funding and career opportunities.

Fluid Talks

We organise “Fluid Talks” web seminars on the last Wednesday of every month. The talks are informal and cross-disciplinary, and are open to PhDs and postdocs interested in any area of fluids research across the University.

Social Events

We organise “Pressure Drop” socials to help fluids early career researchers get to know and bond with each other.
