Title: Radiative Transfer for Atmospheres with Clouds

Short biography of speaker:

Olivier Pironneau is a Professor Emeritus at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC) in Paris and a member of the French Academy of Sciences since 2002. His publications include books and monographs on topics as diverse as Finite Element Methods for Fluids, Applied Shape Optimization for Fluids, an Introduction to Scientific Computing and Analysis of the k-epsilon Turbulence Model. He has also authored in excess of 500 research articles and is the recipient of numerous awards for his research contributions which span fluid dynamics, optimal design, numerical analysis and scientific computing.
