3 rd International Multiphase Flow Technology Forum
(IMFTF2026)
27th to 31st July 2026, University of Leeds, United Kingdom
** Main conference program from 28-30 July. Specialised training workshops will be arranged for Monday July 27th and facilities tours for Friday July 31st **
Background
Multiphase flows are of high relevance in many industrial processes. Research in multiphase flows encompasses various scientific and engineering disciplines, different technological contexts, a spectrum of different scales and a multitude of different analytical and experimental approaches. To have a better understanding of multiphase flows and to establish reliable computational models, experimental and computational techniques are of high relevance. The International Multiphase Flow Technology Forum (IMFTF) aims to help exchange knowledge and share experiences within the international community.
Organization
International Multiphase Flow Technology Forum (IMFTF); Leeds Institute of Fluid Dynamics, University of Leeds; China University of Petroleum; Xi’an Jiaotong University; Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics
Chairs
Dr. Timothy Hunter, Deputy Director - Leeds Institute of Fluid Dynamics, University of Leeds, United Kingdom.
Professor Liejin Guo, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xi’an Jiaotong University, China
Prof. Raffaella Ocone, IChemE President, Heriot-Watt University, UK
Call for Papers
On behalf of the organising committee, we warmly welcome you to participate in the 3rd International Multiphase Flow Technology Forum (IMFTF2026), to be held 27-31 July, 2026 at the University of Leeds, UK. IMFTF2026 will focus on the following topics (including but not limited to):
- Fundamental research and new developments in Computational Fluid Dynamics for Multiphase Flows; including Bubbly and Droplet Flows, Particle-laden Flows, Turbulence in Multiphase Flows. (CFD)
- New developments in experimental approaches for multiphase flow measurement. (EXP)
- Industrial applications in Reactive Multiphase Flows, Granular Media, Fluidisation, Flotation Cavitation, Nucleation, Mixing, Collision, Agglomeration and Breakup, and related process systems. (IND)
- Multiphase flows in energy conversion systems, inc. fossil fuels and renewable energy and multi-energy complimentary systems. (ENEG)
- New developments in measurements or simulations combining machine learning (ML) and AI. (MLAI)
Oral presentation and poster submissions will be invited to submit to a journal Special Issues (SI) related to the conference, in the Elsevier journals Engineering, Particuology and Chemical Engineering Research and Design as well as the MPDI journal Fluids.
Abstract submissions are now closed.
