Are you an enthusiastic and motivated researcher with an interest applying novel approaches to solving airborne infection challenges? Would you like to use your computational fluid dynamics skills to improve indoor environments in hospitals? Are you interested in the opportunity to gain experience working in a cross-disciplinary team in collaboration with the NHS?

You will carry out computational modelling of indoor airflows as part of the EPSRC funded HECOIRA project. You will use computational fluid dynamics and ventilation network models to simulate indoor airflows in hospitals. You will work with the academic team and external partners in the NHS to model real hospital environments and link airflow models to infection risk models to simulate airborne transmission of disease under different conditions.

Holding a PhD (or be close to completion) or equivalent experience in an engineering or science discipline, you will have experience of developing and applying computational simulations.
